MY YOGA JOURNEY

I discovered yoga, or more correctly yoga found me, during a time of my life where I desperately needed more balance. I was managing a successful Fitness Center that my husband, Andy and I co-owned while raising two children. There wasn't a lot of "me" time!

Originally, I was drawn to the practice because of it's sheer physicality. I'd always been athletic so the powerful flowing poses were seductive, challenging every muscle of my body. But after practicing yoga for years, and trying on many different yoga styles to see what was the best fit, I began to feel a transformation within me. The poses, or asanas, not only opened my body but gradually opened my heart and soul to a greater awareness of who I was and where I wanted to go in my life. I began feeling the power of love, compassion and gratitude every time I stepped on to my mat.

The changes were subtle and internal and as I began to teach yoga, I found that my style now included aspects from all forms. I embrace the hard and the soft of the yoga practice, adhering to the belief that yoga is a union of the mind, body and spirit. Using the breath to connect mind and body creates a space for the spirit to grow.

I always bring humor and compassion to my classes. There is no judgement. I just want to inspire you to breathe into the poses to the best of your ability so that you may embark upon your own personal yoga journey. My classes, either private or in a group, offer a safe place for you to explore your own potential. The poses should never get the best of you...rather they should bring out the best in you.

I have seen incredible transformations in my students and in my own relationships with friends and family as we learn to take our yoga off the mat and into our daily lives. Yoga is a remarkable tool that will help anyone at any stage of life, get closer to the happiness within and find unparalleled contentment. I would love to be your guide along that journey.
