Vinyasa
: A beautiful, dynamic and creative practice designed to enhance your energy. We
practice a variety of poses linked together by breath. The class starts with variations
of the sun salutations to warm up and prepare your body for the more detailed work
in our series of standing poses. We often incorporate balancing work and inversions.
Some yoga experience is helpful but not necessary. I always encourage students to
honor themselves and work at their own pace. A very intuitive practice!
Power Flow:
Similar to Vinyasa but designed for an intermediate to advanced student. We
practice a variety of poses linked together by the breath. Focus on alignment
and form in order to create an energetic experience on the mat. Variations
on the sun salutations to begin and arm balances and inversions will be sequenced
in to the standing poses. It is not the poses that make this practice so powerful,
it is the way they will make you feel...come flow with me on a Saturday
Yin Yoga:
This is the other side of the yoga practice. We take it slow and work deeply. The
poses are designed to touch the connective tissue and stimulate the energy flow
in the meridian system in the body, similar to the feeling from an acupuncture treatment.
We work in a very relaxed state so that your muscles relax and we hold the shape
of the pose for 3-5 minutes. You will discover a new kind of challenge here. We
expand our patience and compassion, while enhancing our meditation practice. Come
try this unbelievable journey through your mind, body and spirit. Appropriate for
all levels.
Teacher Training:
Please join me for this life changing experience! I have created a 10
week program. This program meets Yoga Alliance Standards and will cover all
required materials. I am registered as Experienced Yoga Teacher at the 500
hr level. The program will focus on History, Philosophy, Tradition, Lifestyle
and Ethics of yoga. There will also be detailed study of the energy body,
the mental and emotional journey of yoga and the chakras. The style taught
will be Vinyasa. You will learn intelligent and safe guidelines for sequencing
a class of your own, along with hands-on adjusting techniques. Come fall so
in love with yoga that you have to share it. ..This program is suited to anyone
interested in teaching or just enhancing their knowledge of yoga. Some experience
required!
Hands-on Adjustment
Workshop and Enhanced Yoga Stretch: Touch places you didn't know were there.
Give yourself the gift of this special class offered to enhance your yoga practice.
Pam and I will team teach these classes. We only work with small groups so that
we can give everyone the attention they need. We work hands-on with each student
in every pose. These gentle adjustments along with some massage techniques will
ease you gracefully into proper alignment. The art of touch will bring a new dimension
to your practice. Experience what the poses are really suppose to feel like. Some
yoga experience helpful but not necessary.
Free Clinics:
These classes were developed to focus on the details that I cannot get to in a large
group class. Each month we take on a new topic and break it down. It is more of
a classroom setting although we do actively apply what we are learning on our mats.
Feel free to bring questions. All levels welcome. Come learn more about yoga and
watch your practice go to the next level. See schedule for details.
Yoga Kula:
I would like to invite this yoga community to come together and practice. This will
be an opportunity to not only practice together but to share our ideas and network
about upcoming events. My intention is to bridge the gaps between studios
and get to know each other better. The Kula will move from one studio to another
each month. We start with a 2 hour practice to LIVE MUSIC followed by a potluck
healthy meal. Intermediate to advanced students are welcome, the practice promises
to be challenging and fun. Please come out and join the Yoga Kula, looking forward
to seeing you at the next one!!!
Explore the Chakras
Through Asana: This workshop will explain in detail the energy of the charkas.
With a deeper understanding we can see how our lifestyles, stress and emotions effect
our health. This information applied to a yoga practice helps to balance our energy.
Come and see where you may be blocked and begin to do the work that helps you to
let it go. We begin with lecture and discussion followed by a 2 hour asana practice
with mantra.
Saraswati Yoga
Flow Workshop: One who flows, always smiling and with beauty more powerful
than the light of 10,000 moons. Join me for an afternoon of vinyasa flow with an
emphasis on the softer energy within. Energy that is ignited by the breath. This
workshop is about finding the grace in our practice. We will work hard but remain
soft. We will focus on removing obstacles and releasing tension from deep down on
the tissue. There will be some organic movement and some long holds in the poses.
Softening the edges of the practice into something more divine.
Private Instruction:
One hour, one on one, to focus on your individual needs. The classes are specific
to each student. If you have an injury or condition that makes you feel a class
setting is too intimidating then this may be the answer. I have worked with clients
of all ages and with a variety of issues. Sometimes individual attention can take
an advanced student to a new level. It can also be a great beginning for someone
new. I can help prepare you to take yoga in class or to practice on your own. I
am always happy to guide you through any part of the journey. I have been very successful
working with students during fertility treatment, those with Parkinson's, post surgeries,
knee, shoulder and back issues, panic attacks and stress. I believe that we can
find a way for anyone to do this most important and beautful practice.
Teachers Practice:
I would like to invite the teachers in this yoga community to come together and
practice once a month, in one space. We all have something wonderful to offer our
students and each other. This will be an opportunity to not only practice together
but to share our ideas, network about upcoming events and get to know each other
better. Michael's offers a big beautiful space for us to gather. Advanced students
are welcome, the practice promises to be challenging.
